Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15 and the Passover narrative, we're reminded that Jesus's death wasn't a tragedy but a deliberate transaction—the payment for a debt we could never settle ourselves. The word 'tetelestai' echoes from the cross with threefold meaning: our debt is paid in full, our sentence is served, and our enemy is defeated.
